Do you need a sugar cup or a gallon of milk? Maybe this hangover’s aspirin? You shouldn’t be out of luck unlike Christmas.

On New Year’s Day, which is also the National Hangover Day, many more national chains are swinging open their doors.

But don’t want to ring with an impromptu shopping trip in the new year without first testing if one of them is your favorite grocery store. Several stores are going to have shorter hours.

Fair warning: several big retailers will be closed on Wednesday, including Aldi, Trader Joe’s, Walmart and Sam’s Club. Drug stores, including CVS and Walgreens, and convenience stores, will be available.
